Steve's Biography

W. Stephen (Steve) Dennis specializes in the valuation, sale, acquisition, merger, and strategic planning of aviation services companies. He has more than 30 years of varied experience in the aviation industry, including holding executive and senior management positions with some of the most well known companies in the industry.

In founding Aviation Resource Group International in 1975, he established the industry's first aviation business valuation system. It consists of an industry-wide database that tracks actual sales data and value parameters of historic transactions. This allows ARGI to better serve our Clients by providing accurate valuations that hold up in the marketplace. In addition, our system is enhanced by drawing on a broad network of industry contacts who provide practical insights. ARGI is general aviation's pre-eminent broker and advisor to Aviation Services Companies.

Mr. Dennis’ career path includes the development of the Supermarine/Gunnell Aviation facilities located at Santa Monica Airport (SMO) in California. In addition, Mr. Dennis was engaged by TAG Aviation and assisted in the acquisition, planning, and development of London’s Farnborough Airport. A recent high profile engagement involved the long-term planning and development of the private aviation assets of His Highness the Aga Khan. Mr. Dennis' work for the Aga Khan has given ARGI a strong presence outside the United States. Mr. Dennis now heads up our International expansion program.

Prior to Supermarine/Gunnell, Mr. Dennis was Executive Vice President of Jet Aviation of America, the U.S. Aviation Services subsidiary of Zurich-headquartered Jet Aviation, which operates 15 FBOs throughout the world, and five locations in the United States.

Prior to joining Jet Aviation, Mr. Dennis was the Chief Operating Officer of Combs Gates Aviation, which later became AMR Combs, the private aviation services company of AMR Corporation and American Airlines. He was primarily responsible for the corporate operations division, which encompassed 12 full service FBO's located throughout the U.S., Mexico, and Hong Kong. In addition his responsibilities included the development and implementation of strategies for expanding the company through both acquisition and development.

Prior to Combs Gates, he was executive Vice President and General Manager of Clinton Aviation, a full service FBO located at Centennial Airport in Englewood, Colorado.

Mr. Dennis is a Certified Member (CM) of the American Association of Airport Executives, has been a member of the Board of Directors of the National Air Transportation Association. Dennis holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, and a Masters Degree in Airport Planning and Development for the University of Colorado, Boulder.
